Homework 2 -- Image Qualities and Representation Fundamentals

1. Read up through chapter 3 in Brinkmann.

2. Read chapters 4 and 5 in Ganbar and complete the color and tracking process trees presented in the chapters. Take note of the Grade and Color Correct nodes in chapter 4 and Tracking and Corner Pin in chapter 5.

3. Choose a favorite VFX shot and do a micro analysis, using cited references.

4. Write 3 loglines for short films that would require VFX work.

5. Create 3 descriptions of different VFX shots of your creation.

Upload your .nk file, a screen cap (or more than one if needed to see nodes well) of your process tree, and the final rendered image or movie for the comp. For output on movie files, compress as a h.264 mov file at whatever resolution the project was completed.

Include a pdf with written description of work and elements 3, 4, and 5 from above.

Upload to Canvas one tgz or zip file named with your last name and homework 02, such as NAME_H2.zip or NAME_H2.tgz.
