Homework 4 -- Stereo, 3D Compositing Basics, and The Cattery

Read chapter 8 in Ganbar, but you do not need to complete the stereo-compositing exercise as part of the main objectives for this assignment. Do pay attention to the discussion on “LUTs”, log, linear – we will discuss these and color space work in more detail later.

Read and complete chapter 9 in Ganbar which gives a good introduction to the 3D engine within Nuke.

Look through Foundry Community Cattery. Choose one of particular interest and look into further. Document in your pdf for this week.

Create a screenplay version of your treatment. This should lean toward being no longer than 1 to 3 pages. (Consider starting a shot breakdown and thumbnails, and a basic VFX breakdown, as you go, as this will be up next.)

Upload your usual screenshots of process trees, nk files, renders, and pdfs in one tgz or zip file.

Upload to Canvas by Feb. 17th at 11 a.m.
