Main Description

A configuration is most often thought of in conjunction with a change management system. Each configuration is given a label. Anytime one of the items in the configuration changes, the label is changed to reflect that it is different from the previous version.

In a product line, these configurations are versioned and controlled just as the products and assets are. This provides a means of controlling the intercations among core assets and products as they are updated asynchronously.
