Preparation for using AADL in Eclipse

 

  1. Setup Eclipse for AADL use: Go to www.aadl.info and follow their directions to install Eclipse and the AADL plugins.

 

  1. Download the Introduction to AADL tech report from here. It is referenced on the front page of the www.aadl.info site.

 

  1. Download the examples zip from here and from here. Each one is a project in the AADL Eclipse plug-in.

 

  1. Do Import => AADL Project and add the sample projects to your Eclipse setup.

 

  1. Learn to switch among the text, xml, and graphical modes of the environment.

 

  1. Use the intro to AADL and the example models to begin to understand the syntax of the language.

 

  1. Kyungsoo Im will answer some questions in class on Tuesday and I am available via email (with some delay due to time differences)

 

  1. Construct a small description of an architecture that consists of a client and a server with lines of communication between them.

 

 

Understand the problem domain in which we will work.

  1. Read the requirements document

 

  1. Read the resource materials on Travelers’ Assistance found on the assignment page

 

  1. Complete the use case descriptions found in this document. You must create a table for EVERY use case in the use case diagram.

 

 

Install ArchE

    1. Read the installation instructions distributed in class.
    2. Download the three MySQL zip files here, here, and here.
    3. Download the version of ArchE found here.
    4. Here is a copy of the SQL file to use.
