One way to do Project 1 Part 1

Business Context

The market for wireless devices is very dynamic. Each new device has many new features. The driving factors are:

Business Strategy - The wireless communication company views their business as a service not as sales of hardware. The company wants to give customers access to their services as cheaply as possible.

Ubiquitous – The devices are used everywhere for any type of communication.  The device should be small enough, light enough and cheap enough for anyone to use anywhere.

Compatibility – The protocols used during communication are changing rapidly. New protocols are introduced often and the number of protocols in a specific device is also increasing. This allows different types of communication such as analog and digital; and text, data and voice. Special protocols such as BlueTooth and infrared are used to establish communication between the device and peripheral devices such as headsets.

Personal Experience

Personally I have owned cell phones since the early days of “bag phones.” I have had approximately 8 different handsets. I use the cell phone as a phone. I do not enter phone numbers nor have I ever had an Internet ready phone. I use a laptop computer to maintain a calendar of appointments.
