I am a grad student at the University of Colorado at Boulder. We have a pretty impressive parallel computing environment. Two or three shared memory machines, including an Alliant and an Encore. We have an Intel 32 node iPSC (not iPSC II). We have a lot of suns which are being used as parallel machines using programming tools developed at CU. Currently a connection machine is in the works. Our faculity include, Harry Jordan who developed the Force language now market by encore or alliant I think. Oliver McBryan who is pretty famous for parallel numerical stuff and is a connection machine fan. Bobby Schnabel has been involved in methods for solving parallel numerical problems and is developing a language for numerical problems on local memory hypercube. Lloyd Fosdick is a numerical type and Gary Nutt is a OS type, both are doing work in parallel computing too. Most everyone at CU has a finger in the parallel computing pie. If you have more specific questions just let me know.
