>Short Curricul(um)(a) Statement: We offer 3 courses in parallelism; 

Intro to Parallel Proc.  (senior or first year grad.) An introduction to parallel processing mechanisms-- architectures, synchronization, mutual exclusion, basic load-balancing, and survey of algorithms.

Parallel Prog. Languages  (grad.)  basic concepts and structures of high-level language support for parallel systems. Petri nets, data flow models, object models, actor models, ADA model.

Parallel Compilers (grad.) basic concepts of parallelizing compilers and software pipelining.

> Research activities:  Recent publications from faculty are in areas of parallel parsing algorithms, parallel symbol-table resolution, parallel construction of 3-D CT images, and parallel software compaction and pipelining.
