Subject: Grade update

(This message is being sent to all CPSC 851 students)

I have sent the updated grades to the TA and asked her to send them out
to those who took the makeups.

The grades you will get include M1 M2, your current average and
final letter grade (assuming you don't take the exam).  If one of
your makeup grades is missing it means that your makeup grade
was lower than your worst (remaining) quiz grade and so the makeup
grade was not counted.

I do not return makeup quizzes or final exams but you may come look at
them if you wish SOME TIME NEXT WEEK.  I am very busy today.

If you plan to take the final exam,  please let me know by e-mail
by Tuesday so that I can ensure I have enough copies without having
to waste excessive paper.

There were plenty of bad grades in the 70's 60's and worse on the
makeups.   If you made one of them and plan to use the same approach to
prepare for the final exam, I recommend that you don't waste your
time doing that :-(

The final exam is comprised of variations on the most challenging
problems that appeared on the quizzes throughout the semester.
Its format is pretty much the same as the quizzes, and it will
be about 8 pages worth of questions. Its focus will be more on
problem solving than multiple choice (although there will be
some of both).
