I just talked to Robert Griffin, and the carvings are by Bill Dodge (the
original owner of the property) and they should be preserved. He suggested
they should be taken off and have cast made of them and than replace them
with the cast and make a display for the originals in town hall. He is going
to look into who could make the cast locally and get back in touch.. He
feels very strongly about these carvings and said they really should be
preserved. You might pass this along to the neighborhood. Thanks, Jim
