Florida

The Sunshine state! The place people go to die! I spent many of christmas and easter holidays down there and have had fond memories of my grandparents having us stay with them. This was the only real time my family spent any quality time together. Now as I visit, I tend to get bored of the beaches and tourist traps...I am more of a mountains and pacific ocean type of person. Don't get me wrong, I love the warm winters and sandy soft beaches...but not more than a couple of days! I need trails and rugged high back country. Unfortunately the only rugged back country Florida tends to have are the swampland. And you wont find me poking around back there...I'm more afraid of the drug runners than any snake or gator. I do like to kick back on the beaches and the warm salty air always makes you feel like you are in the tropics...but you can leave Florida to the snowbirds and gray hairs...I prefer the gray skies of the Northwest!
