Function 1) uses wml as the end user interface. ASP is the application gateway from the end user to the database. However, because the database is on a clean network, a php file on the Clemson network is served as a gateway from the end user to the asp application.

Function 2) uses a bash script on a UNIX system to download a xml file on Georgia ITS data server ( http://data.georgia- navigator.com ) and extracts desired information into a plain text file. A php script that accepts the user request from a wml file then opens this plain text file and writes the content out to the user.
