MusicGRID
The MusicGRID was designed for Dr. Andrew Levin for use in his music class. Dr. Levin required a chart that his students could post their comments to, using their laptops. Dr. Pargas's computer science 463 students were assigned the task of creating such an application, and the result is the MusicGrid that you can see on this site.
MessageGRID
The goal of the prject is to create a general grid based application similar to the Levin music chart project we did for project 1. The general application will allow the user to create a gride and taylor it to their own specifications. The users will be able to specify teams, and create specialized rows. Multiple admins will be able to create their own projects using the same application on the same server.
The new version of the project will be called a MessageGrid as opposed to a message board. The message grid will function much like a MessageBoard found on the internet, but there will be several important differences.
First- The board will be three dimensional. It will allow for moderator selected column and row headings while still providing the capability for multiple user posts per grid space.
Second- The grid will allow users to compare posts across threads rather than only being able to view one thread at a time.
Third- The grid may provide a facility for altering posts based on Clemson user ID and password, but this functionality may not be necessary. After futher investigation I believe this is possible, and it will also be possible to get the users information out of the phone book. The phone book info will allow the grid to put the users real name on the post rather than just a userid.
