Exercise Encyclopedia

The Exercise Encyclopedia (ExEnc) and companion PDA program "Exercise Log" are the solution. With just a few clicks, you can build a fully customized exercise routine, log your performance as you work out, and compare it to the goals you set for yourself! By the time you're done reading, you'll have set up your first routine and be ready to start logging your progress!

Navigating the routine editor is easier than you think. The left list contains all the exercises in the site's database, while the right list contains those exercises you've added to your routine. Since this is a new routine, the right list is empty. Click on the exercise of your choice, fill out the "Sets", "Reps", and "Weight" boxes with your goals for that exercise, and click the "Add to routine" button. The exercise will appear in the right list, along with a table showing the exercise's name and the numbers you entered. You can continue to do this for as many exercises as you like.

If you make a mistake or change your mind, you can change an exercise in your routine by clicking on it in the right list. The sets, reps and weight you entered will be filled entered into the boxes. You can change them and click the "Edit exercise" button to change your routine, or click the "Delete exercise" button to remove it from your routine entirely.
