The Lives of Lou

This is a story about a tiny immigrant who left a tiny island to pursue his big dreams in a big country.  Luigi Mario Donnarumma became Lou Donar when he traveled through Ellis Island.  This was during the depression where millions were looking for work, but Lou managed to find employment at Ford's factory in Detroit.  It was during this period that Lou resorted to his resources and wits he learned while growing up poor on Malta, a small Mediterranean island south of Sicily.  Lou worked his way up to leave the factory and started a pizza business from scratch.  Lou's business got so big that he celebrated by baking his famous 36 inch pizza.  When Lou was not baking pizza he tinkered with new technology which he sold to the likes of Tom Monahagn the founder of Domino's Pizza.  After 90 years of innovation, preservation, and inspiration, Lou had many stories to tell.  This documentary is not just another immigrant success story, but how one man's character stayed true through so many transitions.
